Advance Guardian Heroes is a pseudo-sequel to Treasures unusual Saturn brawler. Unlike its predecessor, this game uses a standard free-roaming brawler system rather than the three lane setup of the original. It still features magic attacks and light RPG elements, though. Additionally, it adds a unique death system where you have the option to play through the rest of the stage with invincibility when you die (although its Game Over when you finish the level.)

Its single-player only, only Slammer and Garth are playable, there are only three simultaneous enemies, and certain attacks were removed. However, it still retains the originals "triplicated fun" in the form of traditional brawler stages, auto-scrolling shooter sections, and first-person turret stages.

Avengers is an early overhead arcade beat em up from Capcom. Like most brawlers, it has an urban setting and its plot revolves around kidnapped girls. You can punch and kick but not jump or throw. You also die in one hit. Although there are large waves of enemies, most of them die in one hit. Bosses, on the other hand, have plenty of health and require skill and strategy to beat.

Battletoads is Rares flagship brawler thats notorious for its intense difficulty and unmatched variety. In fact, the majority of this game is composed of non-brawler levels like platforming and vehicle sections. Its combat is notable for its emphasis on dash-attacks and the Toads ability to morph their body parts into giant weapons to unleash smash attacks. This is one of the few games where co-op mode is significantly harder because friendly fire is always on and when one player dies in certain sections, both players are forced to re-do it.
