Final Fight Guy is a re-release of the SNES port of Final Fight that replaces Cody with Guy. It's still a single player only game, but it changes the enemy waves around a bit and adds a few new items. In the US, it was only available at Blockbuster.
This is Metro City - Crime Capital of the world. Mike Haggar, mayor of Metro City and former street fighter, has been battling a ruthless gang known as Mad Gear. For months, Cody and Guy have been training with Guy's sensei in Japan. Together with Haggar, they had hoped to drive the Mad Gear from Metro City.
When Guy returned to Metro City early, he found himself caught in the Mad Gear's evil plot.
Sometime in the 1990's...
Hello, Mike Haggar here.
Hee hee hee, Mr. Haggar. So pleased to make your acquaintance. I believe you know who I am.
Don't hang up! We have a little business proposition for you... Your daughter for your cooperation.
And we'll throw in the regular monthly bonus to your salary we offered before.
What? Who is this? What's happened to Jessica?
Not so fast, Mike. Turn on your TV.
You fiend! What have you done to her?
Nothing yet... but we will if you don't cooperate. Listen to reason.
Why make your job difficult?
Just let us do as we please like the mayor before you did. I'll be in touch...
What?! Jessica was kidnapped?! Cody is still in Japan. I guess it is up to me to rescue her.
The GBA port of Final Fight, Final Fight One, is based on this game. It has the extra power-ups and remixed enemy waves of this version.
Besides the new Guy part at the end, the introductory story has been slightly re-worded for this release.
What can I say, it's just the SNES version of Final Fight with Guy instead of Cody, who were almost interchangeable in the original anyway. It's still a scaled-back version of Final Fight, which means it still has amazing enemy design, graphics, and personality. It's a shame that it's single player and the enemy waves are so small, though.
