About

NARC is a port of the unique projectile-based anti-drug arcade brawler developed by Rare. Its one-of-a-kind gameplay involves shooting tons of thugs with limited ammo, as well as getting close to enemies to arrest them for a bonus. Unlike most beat 'em ups, enemies respawn infinitely and you must make it to the end of the stage to beat each level.

Trivia

NARC had an extreme amount of violence and gore for its time. To combat censorship, it advertised a strong anti-drug message to legitimize the violence.

In this port, all references to crack were changed to "Kwak."

NARC is alright. Its combat is extremely unique, has tight controls, and is super challenging. Touching enemies to hand-cuff them is also a cool idea. But its gameplay never evolves, its graphics are horrible, its enemy variety is poor, and the music is mediocre at best. I enjoyed its brutal difficulty but it's way too hard and ugly for most people.
